Bee-hives and accessories

You will find in our store in Marions all the elements necessary to set up your own bee-hive ( bee-hive bodies, rises, frames, feeders, roofs...). Are you setting yourself up for beekeeping ? We can help you step by step to set up your own apiary and we also offer all-included kits for a smooth start.

Bee-keeper equipments

Decide in favour of top of the range equipments in order to efficiently and safely handle a bee-hive. You will find in our store all the equipments and tools necessary to beekeeping concern and the making of honey: suits, gloves, smoking tools, specific bee-keeper tools, packaging and wrapping, maturation containers...

Bee-queens and swarms

Do you wish to colonize or restock a bee-hive ? We offer a full range of equipment needed to attract new swarms and allow the breeding of your own queens, as well as queens and swarms that are directly bred on our apicultural farm. They can be sold specifically for the restocking of a bee-hive as well as for already colonized ones.

Feeding and managing a bee-hive

Taking care of your apiary is essential to guarantee its life expectancy and productive capacity. With that on mind, we offer a selection of quality items for bee-hive feeding, with specific quantities adapted to your apiary ( sirup, pollens and cakes), as well as hornet traps which are most important in our region.

Honeybee-making and gastronomy

You wish to please someone or yourself ? Sabrina will guide you through a large range of handmade honeys all year long in order to satisfy all your desires, ( acacia, chestnut, spring or summer honey...) as well as gastronomic hand-made by-products and gourmet baskets: honeybreads, honey cookies and candies, honey infusions, mustard, vinegar, hydromel...

Bee-hive by-products

Please come and discover our by-products conceived from a propolis basis in order to care for the whole family : toothpaste, make-up remover, African gel, healing cream, specific creams, rubbing cream, soaps, shampoo... On top of that Sabrina can also suggest various items into the world of the bee-hive for little ones as well as elders : pencils, key-rings, cooking books, and educative games...

Complete kits to set up an apiary

In order to get a good start, we can offer complete apiarist kits, including a bee-hive and the basic equipment needed to handle it, to all apiarists (enthusiasts or semi-professional people, beginners or experienced people).

And if you also wish to be assisted when you start your new activity as a bee-keeper, you can benefit from a training which will enable you to start in good conditions or deepen your know-how in apiary management.

Come and visit our apiary in Marions and share our passion for the world of bee-keeping

Ô temps des abeilles organizes visits of the apiary in Marions, so little ones as much as older ones can discover the world of bee-keeping.

Under a secure tunnel, you will discover the inside of a bee-hive, and will be able to understand how it works and what different steps are required for bee-hiving all year long. Sébastien, our bee-keeper, will give you information that will help you understand how the colonies of bees live: you will be able to seize the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about bees.

The visit will end with a tasting of the various honeys that are produced on our farm. Children must be attended by an adult.

Those visits are also opened to companies : our apiary will give you many opportunities to facilitate team-building with your employees, in a neutral and original environment.

Bee-keeping training sessions : acquire or improve your skills

Ô temps des abeilles organizes training sessions on the farm apiary in Marions: a good way to learn and/or reinforce your knowledge in the bee-keeping field. Opened to beginners as well as semi-professional people, those training sessions take place during 6 half-days from March to August and will enable you to grasp the different steps of bee-hive management.

March session
1st visit of the bee-hive, control of the breeding and of the stocks with sirup stimulation.
April session
Checking the development of the colony, with stimulation, changing the frame if necessary and creating an artificial swarm
May session
Controlling the breeding for the artificial swarms, setting up rises on the hives in production

June session
Marking out the young queens with enlargment of the brood-comb, sirup stimulation
July session
Extracting the honey with the setting up of a bee-swatter
August session
Preparing the wintering, controlling the breeding, setting up dividing walls in order to squeeze the colonies

Depending on which training session you select, you will be able, at the end of the training, to leave our apiary with your own swarm at reduced price. Please contact us for more information or to find out when the next sessions take place.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Do you provide deliveries ?

We only guarantee deliveries in the event of colonized bee-hives as handling may be tricky. We can guarantee those deliveries in a 60 km range around Marions.

Do I have to register the bee-hive to the tax administration ?

New apiarists must register a declaration of the bee-hives as soon as the first colony is settled. Then, an apiarist number will be delivered to you (NAPI). You can get more information on the French public department website.

I wish to enlarge my knowledge in bee-keeping. Is it possible to only attend part of your training program ?

Indeed, it is possible to attend only part of the training. However, taking into account that the various parts of the program are, before everything else, in keeping with a consistent and long-term managing of the bee-hive, it might be better to attend the whole training in order to get a comprehensive view of the following-up cycle.
